Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected or kinked drain tube, Excessive door openings causing condensation, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels or working near electrical components. Mop up standing water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- Locate drain: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole near the rear bottom or under the evaporator cover.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or small plastic probe to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush a small amount of warm water through the drain to ensure it flows freely to the rear drain pan.
- Inspect rear drain tube and pan: Remove the rear panel and verify that the drain tube is properly connected and not kinked. Check the drain pan for cracks.
- Reduce humidity load: Minimize door openings and ensure the door gasket seals well to reduce condensation.
