Possible Causes
Faulty cabinet thermistor reading too warm, Control board not cycling compressor off, Incorrect temperature setting, Thermistor not properly attached to liner or evaporator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or control boards.
Steps:
- Verify setpoint: Confirm the temperature setting is appropriate for wine (not at the lowest possible setting unless intentionally chilling).
- Check actual temperature: Place a reliable thermometer inside and compare to the display. If actual is much colder, suspect the thermistor or control.
- Inspect thermistor placement: Access the interior panel and ensure the thermistor is properly mounted and not hanging loose away from the liner.
- Test thermistor: Measure resistance and compare to expected values. Replace if out of range.
- Control board: If the sensor is good but the compressor runs excessively, the control board may be failing to cycle off and should be replaced.
