Possible Causes

Prolonged door opening, Blocked air circulation inside cabinet, Failed evaporator fan motor, Refrigerant leak or weak compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels or touching fan wiring.

Steps to address E8:

  • Check usage conditions: Verify the door is closing properly and not being left open. Ensure the unit is not overloaded with bottles blocking air vents.
  • Inspect internal airflow: Look for frost or ice blocking the evaporator vents. Make sure bottles are not pressed directly against the rear wall or fan outlets.
  • Verify evaporator fan operation: With the door closed and unit running, you should hear or feel airflow from the internal fan. If not, remove the interior rear panel and visually inspect the fan.
  • Clean and test the fan: Remove dust from the blades. Spin the fan by hand; it should move freely. If it is seized, noisy, or does not run when powered, replace the evaporator fan motor.
  • Defrost if iced up: If heavy ice is present, unplug the unit and allow it to fully defrost. After defrosting, restart and monitor temperatures.

If E8 persists and the unit cannot reach set temperature despite good airflow, there may be a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak or failing compressor), which requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
