Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the rear panel. Components may be hot.
Steps to address H1:
- Check environment and door: Ensure the unit is in a room within Whynter's specified ambient range and that the door seals properly.
- Listen for compressor and fan: When powered, you should hear the compressor hum and the condenser fan run. If both are silent, check the outlet and power cord first.
- Inspect condenser area: Remove the rear lower panel. Clean dust from the condenser coils and fan with a brush and vacuum.
- Check condenser fan: If the fan does not run when the compressor is on, test and replace the condenser fan motor.
- Check compressor start components: Inspect the start relay/overload on the compressor. If it rattles when shaken or shows burn marks, replace it with a compatible Whynter relay/overload kit.
If the compressor runs but the unit does not cool and H1 persists, there may be a sealed system problem (refrigerant leak, restriction, or weak compressor). This requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
