Possible Causes

Built-in condenser tubing in cabinet walls, High ambient temperature, Blocked ventilation, Overloaded unit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Some warmth on the cabinet surfaces is normal; extreme heat is not.

Steps:

  • Check installation: Ensure the cooler has the recommended clearances and is not installed flush against walls or inside a tight cabinet without ventilation.
  • Reduce load: Avoid overpacking the cooler, which can cause the system to run longer and heat the cabinet more.
  • Monitor temperature: Use an infrared thermometer to check cabinet surface temperatures. If surfaces are too hot to touch comfortably, unplug and have the unit inspected.

Note: Many Whynter models route condenser lines through the cabinet walls; mild warmth is part of normal operation.
