Possible Causes

Failed divider temperature sensor between zones, Loose inter-zone harness connector, Faulty dual-zone control board communication circuit, Damaged wiring in cabinet divider

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal wiring or panels.

  • Locate divider sensor: On some Wine Enthusiast dual-zone models, a sensor is mounted in the divider wall between upper and lower zones. Look for a small plastic cover or grommet in the divider.
  • Inspect harness: Remove interior panels as needed to trace the harness from the divider to the main control board. Check for pinched or cut wires.
  • Check connectors: At the control board, unplug and replug the divider sensor or inter-zone harness connector to ensure a solid connection.
  • Test sensor resistance: With the unit unplugged, measure resistance of the divider sensor. Compare to other NTC sensors in the unit at similar temperature. Replace if open or shorted.
  • Replace sensor or harness: Install a compatible divider sensor or harness if damaged. Route wiring away from sharp edges and secure with clips.
  • Power up and verify: Restore power and confirm that the E7 code clears and both zones begin cooling.

If E7 persists with good sensors and wiring, the dual-zone control board may be defective and should be replaced.
