Possible Causes
Worn or stuck touch buttons, Cracked keypad membrane, Contamination under button overlay, Failed keypad scanning circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before working on the control panel.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe the touch area with a slightly damp cloth to remove sticky residue that may cause false touches. Do not allow liquid to seep into the panel.
- Inspect for physical damage: Look for cracks or bubbles in the keypad overlay. Damage can allow moisture in and cause F2 errors.
- Access keypad connector: Remove the control panel and locate the keypad ribbon cable. Disconnect and reconnect it to clean the contacts.
- Test buttons: With power restored, test each button. If some are unresponsive or trigger other functions, the keypad membrane is likely faulty.
- Replace keypad / control panel: Install a new keypad overlay or complete control panel assembly as supplied by Wine Enthusiast.
If a new keypad does not resolve F2, the main control board's keypad interface may be defective.
