Possible Causes
Failed Peltier module, Dried or missing thermal paste between module and heat sinks, Blocked or failed cooling fans, Warped heat sink assembly reducing contact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before disassembly. Heat sinks may be hot.
- Check fans: Confirm both interior and exterior fans are spinning at full speed. Replace any fan that is slow or not running.
- Feel heat sink temperatures: After brief operation (use caution), one side of the Peltier module should be warm and the other cool. If both are near room temperature, the module may be failed.
- Disassemble module assembly: Remove the rear panel and carefully unbolt the heat sink assembly to access the Peltier module.
- Inspect module and paste: Look for cracks in the ceramic plates of the module. Clean off old, dried thermal paste from both sides of the module and the mating surfaces.
- Replace module and reapply paste: Install a new Wine Enthusiast-compatible Peltier module with a thin, even layer of high-quality thermal paste on both sides. Reassemble the heat sinks tightly and evenly.
After reassembly, run the unit and verify that one side of the module becomes warm and the interior begins to cool.
