Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain tube, Misaligned drain pan, Excessive door openings causing condensation, Cracked drain pan or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, look for a small drain hole or channel at the rear, just above the compressor compartment.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic line to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush the drain: With a turkey baster or syringe, flush warm water mixed with a little mild detergent through the drain to ensure it flows freely into the rear drain pan.
- Inspect drain pan: Remove the rear panel and check that the drain pan above the compressor is properly positioned and not cracked. Replace if damaged.
- Check door gasket: Ensure the door seals properly to minimize excess humidity entering the cabinet.
After clearing the drain, monitor for further leaks over several days.
