Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Loose fan wiring connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels.
- Access fan: Remove the interior rear panel covering the evaporator in the affected zone.
- Check for ice: Look for ice buildup around the fan. If present, defrost the area with warm air (hair dryer on low, kept moving) and correct any door seal or defrost issues.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. If stiff or seized, replace the evaporator fan motor.
- Electrical check: Inspect the fan wiring and connector. With power restored and door switch held closed, check for proper voltage at the fan connector (use caution). If voltage is present but fan does not run, replace the fan motor.
- If no voltage: The main control board fan driver may be defective and require replacement.
