Possible Causes
Failed evaporator thermistor, Broken or shorted sensor wiring, Poor connection at main control board, Sensor not properly attached to evaporator tubing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing interior panels.
- Access evaporator area: Remove interior shelves and the rear evaporator cover panel inside the wine compartment. Be careful not to damage the liner.
- Locate sensor: Find the evaporator thermistor clipped to the evaporator coil or tubing.
- Inspect mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil and not hanging loose. Reattach with the proper clip or thermal tape if needed.
- Check wiring: Look for ice damage, chafed insulation, or broken wires. Follow the harness back to the control board and reseat the connector.
- Test sensor: With the sensor at a known temperature (e.g., ice water ~32°F / 0°C), measure resistance and compare to Wolf’s thermistor chart. Replace if readings are out of spec.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the evaporator cover, restore power, and monitor for return of EC2.
