Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM on main PCB, Incorrect configuration data for model, Power surge during write operation, Faulty main control board memory
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing the control board.
Steps:
- Hard reset: Unplug the wine cooler for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge and the control to fully reset. Reconnect and check if E12 clears.
- Check model settings: Some service modes allow reprogramming of configuration data. This typically requires Zanussi service documentation and should be done by a technician.
- Inspect PCB: Look for signs of damage or previous repair on the main board. If the board appears burnt or modified, replacement is recommended.
- Replace main PCB: If E12 persists after reset and there are no external faults, replace the main control board with the correct part for your exact model.
Important: EEPROM and firmware issues are not user-serviceable beyond basic resets. Contact Zanussi service if the unit is under warranty.
