E7 displayed, interior light and controls may work but compressor does not run; unit stays warm.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing any control covers. Capacitors on the PCB can hold charge briefly after power-off.
Steps:
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes to allow the control to fully reset. Reconnect and check if E7 returns.
- Inspect PCB visually: Remove the rear service panel and locate the main control board. Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage.
- Check connectors: Ensure all harnesses are fully seated on the PCB, especially those to the display, sensors, compressor, and fan.
- Verify supply voltage: Confirm that mains voltage is present at the input to the PCB (only if you are qualified to work on live circuits). If no power, check the mains cord and house outlet.
- Look for corrosion: If the cooler is installed in a damp area, inspect for corrosion on the PCB and connectors. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with contact cleaner, but severe damage requires board replacement.
- Replace main PCB: If E7 persists and no external components are faulty, replace the main control board with the correct Zanussi part number. Transfer any jumpers or configuration plugs from the old board.
Recommendation: Due to the cost and complexity, main PCB replacement is often best handled by an authorized Zanussi service technician.
