Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Warm bottles loaded all at once, Blocked air circulation inside cabinet, Failing compressor or refrigerant leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks. Unplug the unit if you need to remove panels.
Steps:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and the gasket is clean and undamaged. Remove any bottles preventing full closure.
- Allow stabilization: If you recently loaded many warm bottles, the temperature will rise temporarily. Close the door and allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to recover.
- Improve airflow: Space bottles so that air can circulate around them. Avoid blocking the internal fan vents.
- Check ambient temperature: Ensure the wine cooler is not installed in a very hot location (e.g., next to an oven or in direct sunlight), as this can trigger high temperature alarms.
- Clean condenser and check fan: If the alarm persists, clean the condenser coil and verify the condenser fan is running when the compressor is on.
When to call a technician: If the compressor runs continuously, the condenser is clean, and the unit still cannot cool, a sealed system fault is likely and requires professional service.
