Wine cooler does not cool at all; interior light works, but temperature does not drop.

Safety: Unplug the Zanussi wine cooler before removing the rear panel. Compressor circuits are at mains voltage.

Steps:

• Listen for compressor: After plugging in, listen at the back. A healthy compressor will hum quietly. No sound at all suggests a control or start issue; a brief hum then click suggests a start failure.
• Check for vibration and warmth: Carefully touch the compressor shell (after a few minutes of operation). It should become slightly warm and vibrate if running. A cold, silent compressor is not starting.
• Inspect start device: Remove the rear panel and inspect the compressor start relay/PTC and overload protector for burn marks or melting.
• Test and replace start components: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the overload and appropriate resistance of the PTC. Replace with Zanussi-compatible parts if faulty.
• Check control output: If the start components are good, the main PCB may not be sending power to the compressor. This requires board-level diagnosis and likely replacement.

Important: If the compressor receives correct voltage but does not start or is locked, the compressor and sealed system must be serviced by a certified refrigeration technician.
