Possible Causes
Aging cabinet NTC sensor with drift, Loose sensor connection on PCB, Poor door seal causing warm air ingress, Control board relay intermittently failing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps:
- Verify with a thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside the cabinet to confirm actual temperature versus display.
- Inspect door gasket: Check for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Close the door on a sheet of paper at several points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the cabinet NTC sensor is firmly attached to the interior wall and not hanging loose, which can cause erratic readings.
- Reseat connectors: Remove the rear panel and reseat the sensor connector on the main PCB.
- Replace suspect sensor: If fluctuations persist, replace the cabinet NTC sensor with a Zanussi-compatible part.
Note: If replacing the sensor does not stabilize temperature, the main control board may have an intermittent fault and require replacement.
