Possible Causes

Failed DC indoor fan motor, Fan wheel jammed by debris, Loose indoor fan motor connector, Faulty indoor PCB fan drive circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. The indoor fan can start unexpectedly; keep fingers clear of the blower wheel.

  • Check for obstructions: Remove the front panel and filters. Look into the blower wheel area for plastic bags, insulation, or other debris. Remove any obstructions.
  • Spin test: With power off, gently rotate the blower wheel by hand. It should spin freely without scraping. If it rubs, check for misaligned housing or bent wheel and correct as needed.
  • Inspect motor wiring: Access the electrical compartment and verify the indoor fan motor connector is fully seated on the PCB. Look for signs of overheating at the connector.
  • Test operation: Restore power and run the fan-only mode. If the fan does not start or starts then stops with E9, the motor is likely failing.
  • Replace motor if needed: Remove the blower assembly, disconnect the motor, and install a Fujitsu-compatible DC indoor fan motor. Ensure correct wiring and secure mounting.
  • PCB suspicion: If a new motor still triggers E9, the indoor PCB fan drive circuit may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
