Possible Causes
Failed louver stepper motor, Broken louver linkage or gears, Disconnected louver motor plug, Faulty indoor PCB louver drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the unit and disconnect power before working near moving parts.
Steps:
- Visual inspection: Open the front panel and observe the horizontal louver assembly. Check for foreign objects (toys, plastic, dust buildup) blocking movement. Remove obstructions carefully.
- Manual movement: Gently move the louver by hand with power off. It should move smoothly. If it feels jammed, inspect the side pivots and linkage arms for damage.
- Access motor: Remove the front cover (per Gorenje service instructions) to expose the louver stepper motor on one side of the louver shaft.
- Check wiring: Ensure the motor connector is firmly plugged into the indoor PCB. Look for broken wires at the motor.
- Test operation: Restore power and select swing mode. If the motor does not move and E7 reappears, the motor is likely faulty and should be replaced.
- PCB suspicion: If a new motor does not resolve E7, the indoor PCB louver driver may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
