Possible Causes
Incorrect evaporator sensor reading, Sensor not properly attached to coil, Dirty evaporator causing abnormal temperatures, Indoor PCB misinterpreting sensor data
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing the coil area.
Steps:
- Clean coil and filters: Remove filters and clean them. Inspect the evaporator coil for heavy dust or ice buildup. Clean gently with a soft brush and coil cleaner if needed.
- Check sensor attachment: Ensure the evaporator sensor is firmly clipped to the correct coil location. Reattach if loose.
- Defrost: If the coil is iced, leave the unit off with the front panel open until all ice melts. Do not chip ice with sharp objects.
- Replace sensor: If F2 persists and the coil is clean, replace the evaporator sensor.
