Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, Blower wheel clogged with dust, Foreign object stuck in fan, Faulty indoor PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the indoor unit. Beware of sharp metal edges.
Steps:
- Filter and blower cleaning: Remove filters and inspect the blower wheel. Clean heavy dust buildup with a brush and vacuum.
- Check for obstructions: Look for plastic bags, insulation, or other objects inside the air outlet.
- Fan test: With power off, spin the blower by hand. If stiff or seized, the motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Electrical check: Ensure the fan motor connector is secure on the PCB.
- Replace motor: If the motor does not run at any fan speed, replace the indoor fan motor assembly.
