Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain hose, Misaligned indoor unit causing poor drainage, Dirty drain pan or algae buildup, Cracked drain pan on indoor heat exchanger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and place towels or a container under the unit to catch water.
Steps:
- Check unit level: Use a spirit level to ensure the indoor Gorenje unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side as per installation manual. If not, have the mounting plate adjusted.
- Clean drain hose: Locate the drain hose outside. Gently blow air into it or use a wet/dry vacuum at the outlet to remove blockages.
- Clean drain pan: Remove the front cover and filters. If accessible, clean the drain pan with a mild disinfectant to remove slime and algae.
- Check insulation: Ensure the drain pipe insulation is intact to prevent condensation on the outside of the pipe.
- Persistent leaks: If water still leaks, the drain pan may be cracked or the internal drain connection misaligned; this requires disassembly by a technician.
