Possible Causes
Jammed horizontal louver, Broken louver linkage, Failed louver stepper motor, Loose or damaged louver motor wiring harness on indoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the unit and disconnect power before working on the front panel or louvers.
- Step 1 – Check for physical obstruction: Gently move the horizontal louver by hand (do not force). Remove any foreign objects such as toys, plastic, or dust buildup that may block movement.
- Step 2 – Inspect louver linkage: Open the front panel and look at the plastic arms connecting the motor to the louver. Replace any broken or disconnected linkages.
- Step 3 – Check motor connector: Locate the small louver motor on the side of the indoor unit and ensure its connector is firmly seated on the indoor PCB.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Restore power and use the SWING function on the remote. If the louver does not move and E7 returns, the motor is likely defective.
When to call a technician: If replacing the louver motor or linkage is beyond your comfort level, schedule service. The indoor cover and PCB may need to be removed.
