Possible Causes
Dirty air filters restricting airflow, Low indoor fan speed for long periods, Low refrigerant charge, Very low room temperature setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the unit and allow ice to melt naturally. Place towels under the unit to catch water.
- Step 1 – Clean filters: Dirty filters are the most common cause of icing. Clean and dry them.
- Step 2 – Increase set temperature: Set the thermostat to around 24–25°C and use medium fan speed.
- Step 3 – Check doors/windows: Close all openings to reduce humidity load.
When to call a technician: If icing recurs, a refrigerant or sensor issue is likely and needs professional service.
