Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Blocked or kinked drain hose, Faulty float switch or water level sensor, Improper indoor unit leveling causing poor drainage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and place towels or a tray under the indoor unit to catch any water.
- Step 1 – Check drain hose: Locate the condensate drain hose exiting the indoor unit. Ensure it slopes downward continuously and is not kinked or elevated.
- Step 2 – Clear clogs: Disconnect the drain hose at the indoor unit or drain point. Use a wet/dry vacuum at the hose end to suck out sludge and debris. Flush with clean water.
- Step 3 – Inspect drain pan: Remove the front cover and inspect the internal drain pan for algae, slime, or debris. Clean with a mild bleach solution (wear gloves and eye protection).
- Step 4 – Check float switch: If your Senville model has a float switch or water level sensor, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck. Clean or replace if defective.
- Step 5 – Re-level unit: Verify the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side. Adjust mounting bracket if necessary.
- Step 6 – Test: Restore power and run in COOL mode. Pour a small amount of water into the drain pan to confirm proper drainage and absence of E9.
