Possible Causes
Faulty outdoor coil sensor used for defrost, Defective defrost control logic on PCB, Severe coil icing due to low airflow, Incorrect sensor placement on coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before servicing.
- Step 1 – Inspect outdoor coil: Check for heavy ice buildup. If present, turn the system off and allow it to thaw completely.
- Step 2 – Clean coil and fan: Remove debris and ensure good airflow through the outdoor coil.
- Step 3 – Check defrost sensor: Verify the outdoor coil sensor is firmly attached to the coil in the correct location per Senville manual.
- Step 4 – Replace sensor if needed: Install a new Senville coil sensor if the existing one is damaged.
- Step 5 – PCB/defrost logic: If F9 persists, the outdoor PCB defrost circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
