Possible Causes
Normal defrost operation in heating mode, Outdoor coil heavily frosted, Low outdoor temperature causing extended defrost cycles, Sensor calibration causing longer preheat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: H1 on many Senville models is a status code, not a fault.
- Step 1 – Wait for cycle: Allow 5–15 minutes for the unit to complete defrost or preheat. The indoor fan may stop to prevent cold drafts.
- Step 2 – Check outdoor unit: Ensure the outdoor coil is not excessively iced. If it is, clean around the unit and ensure proper drainage.
- Step 3 – Verify airflow: Clean indoor filters and outdoor coil to reduce defrost frequency.
- Step 4 – If H1 never clears: If the unit stays in H1 and never resumes heating, there may be a defrost control or sensor issue requiring professional diagnosis.
