Indoor unit emits a musty or moldy odor when starting up.

Safety: Turn off power and wear gloves and eye protection when using cleaners.

• Step 1 – Clean filters: Wash filters thoroughly and allow to dry.
• Step 2 – Treat coil: Use an HVAC-approved coil cleaner or disinfectant spray on the evaporator coil and surrounding plastic surfaces. Follow product instructions.
• Step 3 – Clean drain pan and line: Wipe the drain pan and flush the drain line with a diluted bleach solution to kill mold and algae.
• Step 4 – Run in FAN mode: After cleaning, run the unit in FAN-only mode for 30–60 minutes to dry the coil and reduce odors.
