Soleus Air AC runs briefly then shuts down with E2 on the display; cooling is erratic.

Safety: Disconnect power before opening the cabinet. Avoid touching sharp metal fins on the evaporator.

• Remove front cover: Take off the front grille and air filter. On portable units, you may need to remove additional screws to access the evaporator coil.
• Locate the evaporator sensor: Look for a small probe clipped directly to the evaporator coil tubing or fins, usually near the center or top of the coil, with two wires leading to the PCB.
• Check placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil. If it has fallen away, reattach it in the original position so it can accurately sense coil temperature.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the board. Check for pinched, cut, or corroded wires. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
• Test resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to the Soleus Air spec chart. A reading of 0 Ω or infinite indicates a defective sensor.
• Replace sensor: If readings are out of spec or the sensor is damaged, install a new Soleus Air evaporator thermistor. Clip it securely to the coil and route wires away from moving parts and sharp edges.
• Reassemble and test: Refit all panels, restore power, and run the unit in COOL mode. The E2 code should clear if the sensor circuit is restored.
