Possible Causes
Loose wiring harness between user interface board and main control board, Oxidized or damaged connector pins, Failed display/control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.
- Reset control: Unplug the Soleus Air AC for 5–10 minutes to fully discharge the control board. Plug back in and test. If E6 returns, proceed to inspection.
- Access control panel: Remove the front bezel or top cover to expose the display/control board. On portable units, this is usually on the top; on window units, at the front.
- Check harness connections: Locate the multi-pin harness that runs from the display board to the main PCB. Unplug and firmly reconnect both ends. Look for bent pins, corrosion, or partially seated connectors.
- Inspect for damage: Examine both boards for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or water intrusion. If the unit has been exposed to moisture, corrosion may be present.
- Test operation: Reassemble enough to safely power the unit and test. If E6 persists and wiring is intact, the display board or main PCB is likely defective.
- Replace faulty board: Order the correct Soleus Air control PCB or display PCB for your model. Transfer any wiring one connector at a time to avoid miswiring. Mount the new board securely and reassemble.
