Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, Faulty fan motor capacitor (on AC motors), Loose fan motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the AC before accessing the fan or capacitor. Capacitors can store charge; discharge only if you are trained.
- Check fan operation: Try running the unit in FAN-only mode. If the fan does not start or is very slow, suspect the motor or capacitor.
- Access blower assembly: Remove the front cover and any internal panels to expose the indoor blower motor and wheel.
- Inspect capacitor (if present): Many Soleus Air units use a run capacitor mounted near the fan motor. Look for bulging, leaking, or burnt capacitors. Replace with the same µF rating and voltage if defective.
- Check wiring: Ensure the motor leads are firmly connected and not burnt or broken.
- Test motor: Spin the blower wheel by hand; if stiff or noisy, the motor bearings may be failing. Replace the indoor fan motor with a Soleus Air-approved part.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing parts, reassemble the unit, restore power, and verify that F1 is cleared and the fan runs at all speeds.
