Possible Causes
Dead remote batteries, Obstructed IR sensor window, Failed IR receiver board on unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal high-voltage work is needed for basic checks.
- Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the remote.
- Check line of sight: Ensure there is a clear path between the remote and the IR receiver window on the unit (usually on the front panel).
- Test remote: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see the IR LED flash on the camera screen. If not, the remote may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Inspect receiver: If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver board or main PCB may be defective. Access the control panel and check the small IR board and its wiring. Replace the IR receiver module or main board as needed.
