Possible Causes
Dirty air filter causing overheat, Thermistor located too close to cold air outlet, Oversized unit for room size, Faulty control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug before moving sensors or opening panels.
- Clean filter and coils: Ensure airflow is not restricted. Clean filters and coils as described in other entries.
- Check sensor placement: Locate the room thermistor behind the front grille. If it is directly in the cold air stream, reposition it slightly so it senses average room air, not just outlet air.
- Verify room size: Compare the BTU rating of your Soleus Air unit to the room size. If the unit is significantly oversized, it may naturally short cycle; consider using a lower fan speed or dehumidify mode.
- Control board: If cycling is extremely rapid (seconds to a minute) and not related to temperature, the control board relay may be faulty and require replacement.
