Possible Causes
Indoor fan motor overheating and tripping internal protector, Blocked air filter causing high load, Faulty fan speed control on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting the fan motor.
- Clean filter and coil: Ensure the air filter and evaporator coil are clean to reduce fan load.
- Check motor temperature: After the fan stops, carefully (and briefly) touch the motor housing; if extremely hot, the motor may be failing.
- Inspect motor vents: Make sure the motor's ventilation openings are not clogged with dust.
- Replace motor or board: If the motor repeatedly overheats and stops, replace the indoor fan motor. If the motor is cool but the fan is not energized, the control board's fan driver may be defective and require replacement.
