Possible Causes
Blocked rear exhaust vents, Failed or weak high-limit thermostat, Excessive grease buildup around heater, Fan not moving enough air
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the unit to cool completely before handling. Unplug before cleaning or disassembly.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the Gourmia air fryer has at least 5 inches (12 cm) clearance on all sides and is not placed under low cabinets where heat can accumulate.
- Clean interior and vents: Remove basket and tray. Clean grease from the interior, heating element area, and especially the rear exhaust vents using a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Check fan operation: During a test cycle, listen for strong airflow from the exhaust. If airflow is weak or intermittent, inspect the fan motor and blades for obstructions or failure.
- Inspect high-limit thermostat: With the unit unplugged and cover removed, locate the high-limit thermostat near the heater. If it shows signs of overheating or tests open at room temperature, replace it.
- Re-test: After cleaning and any part replacement, run a full cooking cycle and monitor whether the unit still shuts off prematurely.
