Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and control board, Damaged touch control PCB, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Failed microcontroller on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel or accessing internal wiring.
- Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug it back in. Sometimes E7 is cleared by a full reset.
- Dry the control area: If steam or liquid has contacted the control panel, leave the unit unplugged and allow it to dry for several hours. Do not use heat guns or hair dryers directly on the panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel or top cover to access the control panel. Locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the touch panel to the main control board. Reseat both ends carefully.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green or white corrosion on the ribbon contacts or control board connector. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Replace touch panel: If certain buttons never respond or the panel is cracked, replace the touch control panel assembly.
- Main board replacement: If a known-good touch panel and cable still produce E7, the main control board may have a communication fault and should be replaced.
