• Clean thoroughly: After cooling, clean the basket, tray, and interior surfaces to remove grease and burnt-on food.
• Clean heater area: Gently wipe the heating element and surrounding area with a damp cloth to remove grease film.
• Adjust cooking: For very fatty foods, lower the temperature slightly and reduce cook time. Empty excess grease from the pan between batches.
• Inspect for damage: If smoke persists even when clean, inspect the heater and wiring for burnt insulation and replace any damaged parts.
