Display shows E7 and the unit beeps and refuses to start a cooking cycle.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the switch or housing. Do not bypass safety switches for normal use.

Step-by-step checks:

• Reseat the basket: Remove the basket and pan completely, then slide them back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Some GoWISE USA models require the basket to be fully inserted to close the safety circuit.
• Inspect the basket rails and latch: Look for bent metal, melted plastic, or food debris preventing full insertion. Clean the rails and latch area thoroughly.
• Locate the microswitch: With the unit unplugged, remove the side or bottom cover to find the small microswitch that the basket or door actuator presses. Check that the actuator lever moves freely and clicks when pressed.
• Check the actuator tab: On some models, a plastic tab on the basket or drawer pushes the switch. If this tab is broken or worn, the switch will not engage. Replace the basket or drawer assembly if the tab is damaged.
• Wiring check: Ensure the two or three wires on the microswitch are firmly connected and not burnt or broken.

When to stop: If the switch does not click mechanically or tests open when pressed (with a meter), replace the door/basket microswitch. If you are unsure, contact a technician.
