Possible Causes
Incorrect flue slope, Condensate running back to terminal, Inadequate condensate drainage, Flue joint leakage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Condensate is mildly acidic; avoid prolonged skin contact.
- Inspect flue slope (visual): The flue from the ACV boiler should generally slope slightly back to the boiler for condensate return. Sagging or incorrect slope can cause external dripping.
- Check joints: Look for signs of condensate at flue joints. Any leakage must be corrected by a professional.
- Monitor boiler operation: If the boiler is otherwise working normally, schedule a non-urgent service to correct the flue and condensate routing.
- Professional correction: A technician should adjust flue slope, reseal joints, and verify condensate trap and pipework.
