Possible Causes

Stuck DHW flow sensor or turbine, Blocked inlet filter on cold water, Limescale buildup in DHW flow path, Faulty DHW microswitch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and close the cold water isolation valve to the boiler before removing any DHW components.

  • Check water flow: Open a hot tap fully. If flow is weak, check the main stopcock and any isolation valves to the boiler.
  • Clean inlet filter: Many Atlantic combi boilers have a mesh filter on the cold inlet. Isolate, remove, and clean this filter of debris.
  • Exercise the DHW flow sensor: On some models, the DHW flow sensor/turbine can be removed and cleaned of limescale. Only do this if you are competent and can reseal correctly.
  • Call a technician: If E11 persists, the DHW flow sensor or microswitch may need replacement and the DHW circuit descaled.
