Possible Causes
Open-circuit or shorted Dimplex flow NTC sensor, Loose or corroded wiring to flow sensor on Dimplex PCB, Faulty Dimplex main control PCB reading sensor incorrectly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before touching any internal wiring or sensors.
User-level checks:
- Reset the boiler: Power off at the fused spur for 30 seconds, then power on and reset via the control panel.
- Check for obvious wiring damage: If your model allows front-panel access, visually inspect the cable from the flow pipe sensor to the Dimplex PCB for dislodged connectors. Do not alter wiring if you are unsure.
Professional repair:
- Measure resistance of the Dimplex flow NTC sensor at known temperatures and compare to Dimplex specifications; replace if out of range.
- Inspect and clean sensor connector pins on the Dimplex PCB.
- Replace the Dimplex main control PCB if sensor and wiring are confirmed good but E05 persists.
