Possible Causes
Scaled or blocked Dimplex plate heat exchanger, Insufficient primary flow due to partially blocked Dimplex system filter, Faulty Dimplex modulating gas valve causing overheating at low flow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the boiler to cool before touching any pipework. Limescale removal chemicals must be handled by trained personnel.
User checks:
- System pressure and radiator valves: Ensure pressure is correct and all radiator valves are open to allow adequate circulation.
- Clean external filters: If a user-serviceable magnetic filter is installed on the return to the Dimplex boiler, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to clean it.
Professional repair:
- Isolate and chemically flush or replace the Dimplex plate heat exchanger.
- Check primary circulation and clean internal Dimplex filters or strainers.
- Verify correct modulation of the Dimplex gas valve and adjust via the PCB if required.
