Possible Causes

Leaking plate heat exchanger, Dripping automatic air vent, Faulty pump housing seal, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Leaking safety valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and close the cold water and heating isolation valves. Place a container under the boiler to catch drips.

  • Identify leak source: Remove the front cover and carefully inspect with a torch. Look at the plate heat exchanger connections, pump, automatic air vent, and safety valve discharge pipe.
  • Check pressure relief valve: If water is discharging from the safety valve pipe, system pressure may be too high or the valve may be faulty. Do not cap or block this pipe.
  • Tighten connections: Gently tighten accessible compression fittings if they are visibly weeping. Do not overtighten plastic components.
  • Technician repair: Replace the leaking component (plate heat exchanger, pump seals, air vent, or safety valve) and refill/bleed the system according to Junkers procedures.
