Possible Causes
Leaking Nibe plate heat exchanger, Dripping automatic air vent, Faulty pump union or gasket, Corroded internal pipework
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close the boiler’s isolation valves. Water near electrical components is dangerous.
- Identify leak source (visual): Remove the front cover if you are competent and allowed to do so. Use a torch to locate where water is originating (pump, heat exchanger, valves).
- Check pressure relief discharge: If water is coming from the safety valve discharge pipe, the system may be over-pressurised or the valve is faulty.
- Do not ignore small drips: Even minor leaks can damage the PCB and cause corrosion.
- Place a tray: Use a shallow tray or towels to contain water temporarily.
- Call a Nibe technician: Internal components such as the Nibe plate heat exchanger, pump seals, or air vent should be replaced professionally.
