Possible Causes

Faulty Nibe DHW flow sensor or turbine, Blocked DHW inlet filter, Limescale in flow sensor, Wiring fault to sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power and close the cold water isolation valve to the boiler before removing any DHW components.

  • Check water supply: Confirm cold water supply to the property is present and that the boiler’s cold inlet valve is open.
  • Clean inlet filter: Many Nibe boilers have a small mesh filter on the cold inlet. A technician can isolate, remove, and clean this filter to restore flow.
  • Descale if in hard water area: Limescale can jam the DHW flow turbine. A professional can remove and descale or replace the Nibe DHW flow sensor.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning, reset the boiler and run a hot tap to confirm that the boiler now detects flow.
