Brush roll makes loud grinding or rattling noises during operation.

Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner and lay it down to access the brush area.

• 1. Remove brush cover: Take off the bottom plate or brush guard to expose the brush roll.
• 2. Clear foreign objects: Remove any stones, plastic pieces, or other debris trapped near the brush ends or in the housing.
• 3. Inspect bearings and end caps: Remove the brush roll and spin the end caps by hand. If they feel rough, loose, or seized, replace the brush roll assembly.
• 4. Check for shaft damage: Roll the brush on a flat surface. If it wobbles significantly, the shaft is bent and the brush should be replaced.
