Possible Causes

Stuck float switch in dirty water tank, Faulty optical level sensor, Damaged sensor wiring, Contaminated sensor housing with debris or foam

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner and remove both clean and dirty water tanks.

  • 1. Inspect float mechanism: Open the dirty water tank and locate the float (usually a plastic piece that rises with water level). Check if it is stuck in the raised position due to dried detergent, hair, or debris. Clean thoroughly with warm water and mild detergent, then ensure it moves freely.
  • 2. Clean sensor area: If your Beko model uses an optical or magnetic sensor near the tank, wipe the sensor window and surrounding area to remove soap residue and lint that can cause false readings.
  • 3. Check tank seating: Refit the dirty water tank carefully, ensuring it is fully pushed into place. Misalignment can prevent the sensor from resetting.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: With the housing removed, trace the wires from the tank sensor to the main PCB. Look for broken wires, loose connectors, or corrosion. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
  • 5. Sensor replacement: If the float and tank are clean and wiring is intact but E04 persists, replace the dirty water level sensor or float switch assembly according to the service manual.
