Possible Causes
Defective trigger microswitch in handle, Broken trigger lever, Disconnected trigger wiring, Faulty input circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner before opening the handle assembly.
- 1. Inspect trigger mechanism: Check that the trigger moves freely and returns when released. If the plastic lever is cracked or broken, replace the handle/trigger assembly.
- 2. Test trigger switch: Open the handle housing to access the microswitch. Use a multimeter in continuity mode to verify that the switch closes when the trigger is pulled. Replace the switch if it fails this test.
- 3. Check wiring: Ensure the trigger switch wires are intact and firmly connected to the main harness. Repair any broken wires with proper connectors.
- 4. PCB input test: If the switch and wiring are good, the input circuit on the PCB may not be detecting the trigger. In that case, replace the main PCB.
