Possible Causes
Water leak onto base tray sensor, Cracked internal hose, Loose hose clamp, Faulty leak sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately. Do not continue to operate a leaking appliance.
- 1. Inspect for visible leaks: Remove the tanks and check the base of the unit for standing water. Dry any moisture with towels and allow the unit to air dry for 24 hours.
- 2. Access leak sensor: Remove the base cover to locate the leak tray and sensor (often a pair of metal contacts or a small board). Clean and dry the area thoroughly.
- 3. Check hoses and clamps: Inspect all internal hoses from the tanks to the pump and from the pump to the nozzle. Tighten loose clamps and replace any cracked or brittle hoses.
- 4. Sensor test: With the area dry, disconnect the leak sensor and measure its resistance. It should be open circuit when dry. If it reads shorted or unstable, replace the leak sensor.
- 5. Reassemble and monitor: After repairs, reassemble and run the unit briefly while watching for new leaks. If E12 returns, discontinue use and seek professional service.
