Possible Causes
Blocked recovery nozzle, Air leak at dirty water tank seal, Cracked recovery hose, Clogged recovery filter screen
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before inspecting tanks and nozzles.
- Check dirty water tank seating: Remove and refit the tank, ensuring all latches click. Inspect the main gasket for damage or debris preventing a good seal.
- Clean recovery nozzle: Locate the suction slot at the front of the floorhead. Remove any lint, hair, or fibres blocking the opening.
- Inspect recovery hose: Follow the hose from the floorhead to the tank. Look for splits or loose connections that could cause air leaks.
- Clean filter screen: Some models have a mesh screen at the tank inlet. Rinse under warm water to remove soap residue and debris.
- Test on a small area: After reassembly, test on a small patch of carpet. Make slow, overlapping passes to maximise water pickup.
