Possible Causes
Airlock in solution pump, Blocked solution line or nozzle, Failed solution pump motor, Faulty pump pressure switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and empty tanks before disassembly.
- Check solution tank: Ensure the clean water/solution tank is properly seated and filled. Inspect the tank cap and valve for damage or debris preventing flow.
- Prime the pump: Refill the tank, then with the machine on (and safe), hold the trigger for 30–60 seconds to purge air from the lines. If the pump is airlocked, continuous trigger operation can restore flow.
- Clean spray nozzles: Remove the floorhead or nozzle assembly. Soak the spray tips in warm water and gently clear any mineral deposits with a soft brush or wooden toothpick. Do not enlarge the nozzle orifices.
- Inspect solution hose: Follow the clear or opaque solution hose from the tank to the head. Look for kinks, pinches, or leaks. Straighten or reseat as needed.
- Advanced pump check: If E4 persists and no spray occurs, the internal solution pump or pressure switch may have failed. These are usually sealed units; replacement of the pump module is recommended via a service centre.
